With Be the One, you can help promote positive change in your community simply by sharing your view! About Designed together by Rutgers School of Social Work and New Jersey Prevention Network, Be the One is a photo sharing mobile platform that helps shed light on the health of communities throughout New Jersey. By using your smartphone and the app, share photos of healthy or harmful influences that you encounter in your environment. Every submission on the app contributes important data that gives voice to issues our communities face—helping make a visual “case for change.” A Platform for Change. Shaping Healthy Communities. With a perspective towards substance use and youth, capture and report on the good and bad that impact your community. 1 Open the app and choose the New Jersey county where your experience occurred (Atlantic, Mercer, etc.). 3 Supply details about your photo—the location and how/why the subject of the image influences making healthy or poor alcohol or substance use choices. 2 Upload or take a photo that displays a positive or negative experience in your community as it relates to substance abuse and youth. 4 After checking the boxes next to the relevant substances and agreeing to the terms of service, submit your photo for review! 3 Submit Your Photo & Check Out Other Views Throughout NJ. Wahoo, you’ve now taken action towards creating a healthier community! Hang tight while we review—and hopefully approve—your photo submission.
