Your journey to certification/licensure begins with your application as an ADC Intern with a DMHAS-licensed agency.

Sign Up With NJPN for Training and Complete Coursework.

NJPN offers initial addiction counseling certification and licensure courses that fulfill 270 educational hours required by the state of NJ.

Pass Your Exam to Earn Your Certification or License.

In order to practice as a certified or licensed addiction professional in NJ, you must pass oral and written alcohol/drug counselor exams.

The Chemical Dependence Associate (CDA) certification provides essential training and foundational knowledge for those pursuing their CADC.

LCADC

LCADC

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LCADC) assist those with with substance use disorders by providing individualized treatment, support and motivation along their journey toward wellness.

ACS

ACS

The 15-hour Approved Clinical Supervision (ACS) training is offered through an asynchronous format to Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) who complete their initial CCS 30-hour training through NJPN.

CADC

CADC

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors (CADC) assist those with with substance use disorders by providing individualized treatment, support and motivation along their journey toward wellness.

CCS

CCS

Certified Clinical Supervisors (CCS) oversee, evaluate, mentor, and educate alcohol and drug counseling staff and interns.
