Steven C Sandor Jr is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) and Peer Advocate with a background rooted in both military service and lived experience. He served in the United States Army Infantry from 2003–2005 before retiring from service due to injury.
His personal journey has included substance use, homelessness, incarceration, and recovery, along with experience navigating behavioral health services. These experiences have shaped his commitment to helping others navigate recovery and connect with meaningful support.
He currently works as a peer employed by Prevention Resources, Inc. at the Open Door Recovery Center of Hunterdon supporting people in recovery as well as his fellow veterans. Through both professional and lived experience, he brings a unique perspective to the intersection of military culture, recovery, and peer support.
Steven C Sandor Jr is passionate about using lived experience to reduce stigma, build trust, and improve culturally responsive support for veterans and others navigating recovery.
