Karl is a combat veteran of the war in Iraq. He served for four years in the Navy, on a destroyer, before serving in the Army for twelve years. He is father to six kids in a mix-and-match family and is himself in recovery. Karl is also an ordained Buddhist priest and teacher and views his service to veterans and others experiencing homelessness, substance use disorder, and trauma as his mission field.
