Cape Assist has been providing prevention education programs in Cape May County for over 20 years. We exist to help keep our communities healthy, safe and drug free. Throughout the county, we collaborate with institutions, schools and community groups to help foster healthy families and neighborhoods. We also advocate for policies that promote wellness by communicating with concerned citizens and by keeping abreast of current legislation.

The services we offer are designed to reduce risk factors for violence and substance abuse, thus fostering a healthy lifestyle. Programs include teaching life-skills, parenting skills, leadership skills and effective communication. Our mission embraces all segments of the population, from toddler to senior citizen.

Addiction Professionals Certification Courses
Cape Assist offers various courses that can lead to certification as a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS). Visit our website at www.capeassist.org for more information and training dates.
 
Community Partnership for Tobacco Prevention
Funded by the N.J. Dept. of Health and Senior Services Comprehensive Tobacco Control Program, this program provides health education programs, raises awareness about New Jersey’s Smoke-free Air Act and works to reduce exposure to second-hand smoke among all New Jersey residents.

Forest Friends
This asset-building program is designed to develop and reinforce resiliency skills in children ages five through nine. In this engaging program, children learn about dealing with feelings, how to communicate effectively, how to make good and healthy decisions, and more.

Girl Power
This program is dedicated to empowering girls ages nine through 14 to make responsible decisions.
 
Healthy Community Coalition
The Coalition collaborates with community organizations throughout the county to meet the diverse needs of our residents.

Impact 6
Impact 6 is a six-hour program for first-time alcohol and drug offenders, ages 15 to 18. 
 
Kids Art Resource and Education (KARE) Center
The KARE Center offers after-school programs for children ages six through 11, which help develop the personal and social skills necessary to make positive life choices.

Peer Leadership Conference
This countywide Peer Leadership Conference is held each year to recognize, support, and encourage strong peer leaders and peer leader programs throughout Cape May County. 

Reaching Everyone By Exposing Lies (REBEL)
This youth-driven tobacco control movement is designed   to prevent and reduce the spread of tobacco use among adolescents and other community members.

Sea Life
This violence prevention program, geared toward children, consists of six interactive lessons that combine a puppet story line, group discussion and activity sheets to share with family members and caretakers.

Strengthening Families Program
This science-based, family-skills training program involves the entire family. This program helps children ages six to 14 and their parents develop skills that strengthen the family unit.

Youth Development Program
This program offers training for student leadership or community youth groups on topics such as team building, alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and action planning. The program can be tailored for new or experienced groups.
